ABOUT

Joshua is a detail-oriented, analytical government professional who consistently seeks innovative methods to improve both efficiency and  organization. Some of Joshua’s greatest strengths are his abilities to build trust, create and successfully execute action plans, and critically think through problems. In his experience, Joshua has proven that he consistently exceeds stated goals and is willing to go above and beyond to achieve both organizational and personal goals.
 

Joshua has further demonstrated these skills while attending Georgetown University Law Center as a student in the evening division. Balancing both work and school, he has continued to hone his efficiency and organizational skills in the legal environment, including in his work as a staff editor on the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. Upon graduating, Joshua aims to pursue a career in civil litigation in the Washington, DC market.

  • Conduct interest-based negotiations with external respondents for violations of campaign finance laws/regulations on behalf of the Commission and advocate for approval of resulting negotiated settlements to the commissioners
     

  • Draft, edit, and circulate legal documents, including negotiated settlements, recommendations, and memoranda to commissioners and respondents
     

  • Develop and integrate settlement terms, including civil penalties and remedial measures into settlement documents
     

  • Oversee civil penalty program, including tracking payments, reporting payments to finance, processing payments through pay.gov, tracking delinquent debts, and referring debts to the United States Department of Treasury
     

  • Developed and implemented case tracking software in Microsoft Access and Oracle and managed a subsequent IT project populating an Oracle database with relevant data
